The above are recordings of tunes performed at the RonDun Hotel/ Tavern at Roncesvalles and Dundas south of Dundas West when I found myself on stage with Ron and Wayne, the first time I'd worked again with Wayne since we'd last performed at Mr. Dave Cooper's Yonge Street Zanzibar Tavern. On the majority of these cuts only 3 instruments, B3 organ, guitar and drums are audible; the fourth is the B3 bass peddles played by Wayne's stockinged feet. And this was I think the first time I'd worked with Ron who seemed to have the RonDun gig with Wayne who'd found his Toronto home away from his rural home doing maintenance work for what I understood to be the RonDun's newest owner Mr. Cooper of Yonge Street's Zanzibar Tavern. What's most interesting to me about these recordings by Wayne's friend from his rural locale is that they offer a glimpse of how we might have hoped we'd sound through the tumultuous on stage acoustics I 've always heard while trying to project something like what's heard in these unrehearsed performances.
